Ambassador Görkem Barış Tantekin was born on July 8, 1974 in Ankara, Türkiye. He holds a law degree from Grenoble University, France.

Also a graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (“Simone Veil” Class, 2006), he held several posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, most recently serving as the Special Advisor to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2021-2023).

He is married to Damla Ömür Tantekin and has one daughter. He speaks English and French.

Ambassador Tantekin assumed his duties as of February 1st, 2023, and presented his credentials on February 6.
